Intro and Conclusion  For this week's reading task, I was tasked on writing the introduction and conclusion for my academic paper. I don't think it was difficult for this week, I didn't have a hard time writing the 2 paragraphs. The videos on the CDM website definitely helped me out with figuring out what to put into my introduction and conclusion paragraphs. For the introduction paragraph, I had to carefully figure out how to introduce the reader to my topic, without really summarizing my topic or like briefly talking about it. I think I phrased it nicely to grab the reader's attention and I also added questions for the introduction which I end up answering in the content of my paper. For the conclusion, I ended up summarizing my main topic and I ended up quickly summarizing 3 of the main themes I talked about as well as including my overall opinion of the topic. I had to look through my paragraphs so I could see the main conclusion points I could add to the paragraph.

Audio and Building In this week's final tutorials, I've learned how to implement sound into my game and how to build and run it after finishing it. For the audio section, It was new to me as I've never really looked into the sound aspect of unity. I remember messing around with it a little in my game for semester 1, but I was really just blindly following a video so I didn't learn much. I didn't find much difficulty in it really. It was all pretty straight forward but I do remember it being easier on the 3d side of unity rather than the 2d one here. For the second part I learned how to build the game, make sure all of the settings fit with the game and to make sure everything works the way it's intended. the first time I built the game and exported it, it wouldn't launch for whatever reason but the second time I exported it as a game everything was working fine. No issues or anything. For the game jam, I tried to export my final game and it just would keep

Working with a Canvas On this week's episode of Ruby's adventure, I learned out to implement a canvas into my game, so I could make the UI aspect of the game. Initially, I was familiar with the canvas side of unity as I made several UI's in the past but since it is a 2D game after all, some things are different. For example, the whole aspect of scaling screen sizes was new to me and kinda of difficult to grasp, as well as learning about the anchor points which I understood upon implementing it. Masking also wasn't hard as I got it first try and coding the health bar was familiar and pretty straight forward. For the second part, I added an NPC called Jambi which was simple. I also learned about ray casting which I've used before, but I never really understood it as I had to use it to make a certain piece of code work. The coding kind of looked complicated in a sense that I was typing it without understanding what everything did or meant but what it basically did wa

Constructive Criticism  For this week, we had to review the paragraph's of 2 peers that were chosen for us. I got Nadine Dam and Sam O'Sullivan for my 2 that I had to review, which I did right here: Review for Sam Review for Nadine For Nadine's piece, I found it hard to spot any mistakes or any improvements that could be made as I felt she did an overall amazing job with the paragraphs. For Sam's piece, I also found that It was very good but there were mistakes and areas that could be expanded on that I pointed out. Reviewing their pieces also gave me an idea of a few synonyms that I could add to my own piece to make it be more academic. From their feedback that I received, I used it to improve my paragraphs and I feel like they did help me out a lot to figure out what I needed to add or fix to make the paragraph more presentable and academic. Overall, the experience helped me reflect on my work and learn of ways to improve the way I write academically and look out for

Writing up my paragraphs For this week of reading, I started writing up my paragraphs. Since I've hadn't had much time to actually write up all of the paragraphs, I did as much as I could, which was paragraphs. I'm planning on finishing the rest at the start of next week. I used all of the info that I gathered from my annotated bibliography to tackle the themes that I gathered from last week. I think I did a pretty good job but I'm also eager to see next week's lecture to see how I could improve or fix it to try and get as many marks as I can.. One area I do think I'm improving on is concentrating for longer and not losing focus or getting distracted which is always good. For some articles, it was easy to create the 5 sentences required for the paragraph while for others it was a little more difficult. Overall, I think I did make good progress considering my time contraints and I will try to finish the rest of my work as soon as I can. You can find all of my u

Visual Styling In this week's unity tutorial session, I went over learning how to use cinemachine in 2D Unity. I have used cinemachine in my past projects such as my game for multimedia 1 and as well as for the game jam. But fore those cases, they were both 3D games so the camera worked a little differently. I learned how to implement the cinemachine camera into the 2D game which wasn't too hard but had a few more quirks which were not too hard to figure out with the help of the tutorial of course. For the particles, it's something I've never used and something that took a little time to wrap my head around it. There was a lot to it like setting the direction of the smoke particles, making the particles fade way etc. It was a lot more of Unity stuff itself rather than coding which wasn't too bad. In the end, I managed to get the hang of it and managed to fix it after it didn't work out the way it showed in the tutorial. It's something I'll have to go o

Learning Thematic Process This week for the reading, we went on from making annotated bibliographies to the next stage of academic writing which is the thematic process. It's something new that I've never done, so I'm not sure if I've done it correctly so I will have to check in on the next weeks lecture to get some tips on how to do it properly and make it look better so that I could use it to help me for my own paper. I've spent the three hours on doing the 3 thematic process's for 3 of my 6 annotated bibliographies and I'm gonna finish the rest of them next week. It was very time consuming as I've much trouble concentrating on something that I don't enjoy doing but I got through it for this week. One area that I do hop on improving is that aspect of not losing focus as I do this written work as it is a bad habit and it takes way longer to do these types of things if I just keep getting distracted. Other than that, next week I'm hoping to lea
