Reading 06

 Writing up my paragraphs


For this week of reading, I started writing up my paragraphs. Since I've hadn't had much time to actually write up all of the paragraphs, I did as much as I could, which was paragraphs. I'm planning on finishing the rest at the start of next week. I used all of the info that I gathered from my annotated bibliography to tackle the themes that I gathered from last week. I think I did a pretty good job but I'm also eager to see next week's lecture to see how I could improve or fix it to try and get as many marks as I can.. One area I do think I'm improving on is concentrating for longer and not losing focus or getting distracted which is always good. For some articles, it was easy to create the 5 sentences required for the paragraph while for others it was a little more difficult. Overall, I think I did make good progress considering my time contraints and I will try to finish the rest of my work as soon as I can. You can find all of my up to date work here.

  What I enjoy Hola 'tis me. I'd like to talk about what I enjoy doing in my free time and my future aspirations that I have. A thing that I've been getting more and more into is music. Music is a daily part of my life and sometimes it is hard for me to get by without it. Understanding Game Design

  Learning Game Design Fundamentals After reading "What is a game anyway?", it gave me a new perspective of what a game actually is. I've always had a straightforward way of thinking about it. I always knew it was an art as there are so many masterpieces of games out there, but there are so many different elements that actually make a game what it is. In order for a game to function as a game, it has to have rules, activities, goals, decision making and so many more aspects. All of the games that I have played or that are out there have these elements and are the reason why they exist. I have also learned that people have different interpretations of games and what they are, but to me a game is where you get to forget about the outside world and immerse yourself into the experience and enjoy yourself. Alpha

Setting up the Menu   For this week and to try to make this game look more like an alpha build, I fixed the camera issue I had in my previous sessions. I had to delete my previous scripts for the camera and created new ones which finally managed to work. The only thing that I couldn't really get right once I fixed my main camera issue is the clamp method to adjust how far the player could turn and look up but overall I got what I wanted. I also managed to set up the pause menu for the game so that the player could enter the settings or quit the level if they wanted to. The thing that I had a problem with was because the key to fire is the left mouse button, and to select one of the pause menu you need to click the left mouse button, it fires the arrow even though the game is frozen and it's something I'm currently trying to fix. The things I need to fully add are the fire arrows, the in game hud and the main menu and after that I would say that the beta build would be final
